Intern Reflection: Magic Sun

Summer 2020 was a unique experience for many interns as we had to navigate working from home as opposed to in the office. However, the distance never prevented us from making friends and working collaboratively. We brainstormed ideas, shared knowledge and helped each other along the way. I feel so lucky that my summer was spent with Landworks Studio!

The main focus of my internship was working on materials for an international competition. I was involved in every part of the design progress and took on tasks in historical research, diagrams, 3D modeling and board layout. Not only did my experience reinforce the skills I had, I also learned new skills such as color theory. At Landworks, grey tones are not in fashion (very different from ‘school style’). Thanks to the help of my colleagues, I learned about color theory and now I can work with more complex color palettes and make colorful diagrams!

My experience at Landworks Studio has prepared me for graduate school. Not only did I see the skills I will be utilizing in the future, but I also understood company standards for quality and efficiency. Because of this experience working closely with senior associates, I formed good habits in many aspects, such as the research, workflow, storytelling and reflection after a project is completed. I hope during my next two years of study, I can reflect on what I learned this summer and be even more prepared for my future.
