Scale

Along the arc of our growth, Landworks has seen an increasing bandwidth of project size and complexity in correlation with the scale of our strategies and implementations. We seek landscape experiences that simultaneously address and transcend scale, concerning ourselves with the personal experience within a vast landscape or the community and ecological implications of a Lilliputian installation. Early work, such as Trampoline Garden and Theater Group Retreat, respond to an intimate scale and allow for close, considered study of material detail. As sites and issues have grown larger and deeper, the smaller scale lessons in materiality and tectonics translate and evolve into infrastructure, ecologies, and systems of environmental and social interaction. Though our interests widen, we consciously maintain practice within smaller scales. Within a collaborative studio environment a diversity of work synthesizes into a dynamic network whereby discrete and seemingly disparate projects complement and inform each other.
