Regional Design Expertise contributes to an expanding knowledge base of regional environmental systems, flora and fauna, which in turn enriches our team with essential material for the design of other sustainable and memorable landscape solutions. Begun as a firm interested in the artful reclamation of deteriorated landscapes, urban as well as beyond-urban, as our practice has expanded we have engaged a wealth of fascinating regional design challenges on diverse sites up and down the north/east post-industrial corridor of the United States. Tailored responses to each design problem are informed by a close scrutiny of local ecologies and tempered to exploit inherent characteristics of those environmental realities. Our growing body of regional experience feeds an increasingly more informed and facile studio environment. Regional commissions range in scale and type, and vary in locale from urban settings in cities like Washington, DC, Philadelphia, and New York, NY, to rural sites in Virginia, Maine, and throughout the New England region.
