By challenging assumed norms about landscape, we provide for the end users unique landscapes that strike an artful balance between how a place functions and the experience of the place itself. Progressive ecological agendas and the need to optimize efficiencies often lead to the incorporation and use of emerging technologies, systems and materials, while other projects demand reexamination and extraordinary reuse of otherwise ordinary or humble materials. In both scenarios, we are motivated by the imperative to establish site character defined by a rich vitality, economy and sustainability (cultural and social as well as ecological).
