Landworks Studio joined forces with The Boston Design Center to reinvigorate their urban courtyard and building threshold through the insertion of provocative landscape interventions, both of the permanent variety as well as installations of a temporary nature, deployed serially on an annual basis. A combination of commemoration and place-making; “Living Legacy”, an annual process of tree planting in honor of outstanding designers and practitioners, breathes new life into the plaza while creatively re-interpreting the remarkable characteristics of the existing site. This process, through the process of accrual over time, will result in the creation of a more rich and diverse civic space.
