A Master Plan, developed in collaboration with Danish firm Vilhelm Lauritzen Arkitekter and Payette Associates of Boston, to rehabilitate and double the size of existing facilities explores the implications of such an expansion across the 100 hectare site, including stormwater management, parking for 2400 additional cars, impacts on eco-systems, etc. Landworks Studio envisioned a multi-scaled landscape with three main elements: mounds, forests, and water bodies, each in careful calibration with the other, responding in scale and figure to localized conditions and demands of program, while addressing issues of access, infrastructure and program, resulting in the creation of an ecologically and socially progressive campus identity.
